    Every session begins with a skin review. Active inflammatory acne, compromised barrier, or recent use of prescription retinoids may require protocol adjustment. Numbing cream is applied to the treatment area and left for 20–30 minutes.

    Microchanneling pass

    The Procell handpiece passes across the face in a systematic grid pattern — forehead, cheeks, chin, perioral area. Most clients describe mild pressure with minimal sensation during numbing. Treatment time: approximately 20–30 minutes.

    Growth factor serum application

    Immediately after channeling, Procell's stem cytokine serums are applied directly into the open channels. This is the step that differentiates Procell outcomes — the growth factors direct cellular repair toward collagen synthesis and pigment correction rather than leaving healing to chance.

    LED light therapy

    Red and near-infrared LED light therapy follows every session at KIAMO Skin to reduce post-treatment inflammation and support the healing response. This is included in every appointment, not an add-on.

    Barrier protection and post-care

    A calming, occlusive barrier product is applied. You leave with clean, protected skin — no foundation, no active products on day of treatment. Expect redness similar to a mild sunburn for 24-48 hours. Mild dryness or flaking may occur as your skin renews itself. SPF is non-negotiable post-treatment. The channels close within hours, but skin UV-sensitivity is elevated for 7–10 days after microchanneling.

How is Procell microchanneling different from microneedling?
Procell microchanneling is not a traditional needle microneedling pen — it is a different modality, not a different brand. It creates controlled microchannels and delivers a growth factor serum through them in the same pass, so the device and the serum are designed to work as one system. The channels are what allow the serum to reach past the surface. It is chosen here for melanin-rich skin because treatment depth is adjusted region by region rather than set once for the whole face.
Is microneedling worth the money?
Microchanneling is worth the money for acne scarring, uneven texture and early loss of firmness. It is not worth it as a one-off glow treatment, because collagen remodeling is cumulative and a single session rarely does what a series of three does. Sessions are usually spaced four to six weeks apart, which is why the three-treatment series is priced together at $1,199. If what you actually want is hydration and a clean surface, a HydraFacial is the better spend.
Is 40 too old for microchanneling?
Forty is not too old for microchanneling. Collagen production slows with age but does not stop, and mature skin is one of the most common reasons the treatment is chosen at all. What matters far more than age is what the skin is currently doing — active or inflamed acne, certain acne medications and a compromised barrier are all reasons to wait or to treat something else first. That is assessed at consultation, not by a number.
Why does skin look worse right after microchanneling?
